Coach Harris grew up in Heber, Utah, where he attended Wasatch High School and built a standout basketball career. During his time with the Wasps, he scored over 1,000 career points and earned All-State honors twice.
After graduating, he continued his playing career at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon. As a freshman, he helped lead the team to a 17–1 record and a Southern Region Conference championship.
He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico City. After returning home, he married his wife, Sydney, and they moved back to Oregon, where he rejoined Umpqua. During that season, he averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game, establishing himself as one of the top players in the region and being named a JUCO All-American.
He later transferred to Cal State San Marcos, competing at the NCAA Division II level, where he started 17 games during his time with the program.
After finishing his playing career, he transitioned into coaching, bringing his experience and passion for the game to the next generation of athletes. His background as a high-level player and competitor continues to shape his approach as a coach, as he focuses on developing players both on and off the court.
