Welcome to Kimberly Ryszka, Band Director

Kimberly Ryszka is a passionate music educator who is excited to share her talents and love for music with others. She is the proud wife of John Ryszka and mother to five beautiful children. They enjoy family activities, spending time together, and going on adventures in their airplane. They are also huge Disneyland fans.

Kimberly started playing the saxophone in 6th grade and knew she wanted to be a band director in 8th grade. She has been involved in many performing ensembles throughout her life and still loves to play in various ensembles. She studied music education at BYU-Idaho and participated in their top performing ensembles including 5 performance tours both stateside and internationally.

She has spent the last 10 years helping grow the band program in Heber City. As an assistant to the director and woodwind specialist she played a major role in the growth and success of the Wasatch high school band program. She has also enjoyed teaching preschool and elementary music, private woodwind lessons, and group Presto piano classes for Let’s Play Music.

She worked part time in the South Sumit band program eight years ago where she taught with Mr. Flinders for the remainder of his last year and occasionally the next few years as a sub. She loved working in the program then and is delighted to be back at South Summit. She is looking forward to teaching and interacting at both the school and community level. She has big goals for the program and is excited about the amazing potential.

She loves working with students and looks forward to cultivating a welcoming, fun, and successful band program at South Summit schools.
